Stations unite to host vigil at local stadium to help community cope with tragedy September 12.

WBAB AM and WJLI FM - Long Island - (Cox) raise $600,000 for the Red Cross.
Station personnel worked round-the-clock to collect necessary supplies for rescue workers while raising needed funds.

WJBC/WBNQ/WBWN Bloomington, IL unite to raise funds
Citadel's Bloomington cluster raises $778,000 in five days.

WGRD - Grand Rapids - (Regent Communications) teams with WOOD TV to raise money for the New York Relief Fund
Thirteen hour marathhon broadcast raises $665,000 in one day.

KCFY Yuma, Arizona
KCFY teamed up with a local sign company and passed out flag banners while raising money for the New York City Firefighters' 911 Relief Fund.

Radio Personalities and Artists to Participate in October 20th "Volunteers for America" Concert
Radio Personalities, including Cox Radio's Lex and Terry, are volunteering to participate in this star-studded event designed to raise funds for organizations assisting victims of the 9/11/01 tragedy.

Stations raise over $20,000 selling ribbons and flags for the Red Cross Relief Fund.

Clear Channel's Hartford cluster hosts community vigil and collects supplies and funds
WHCN/WKSS/WMRQ/WPOP/WWYZ Hartford unites with police and fire departments and government officials.

Journal's Omaha stations raise over $200,000 in two days.
KEZO, KSRZ, KMXM, KQCH, KKCD, KOSR AM, KOMJ AM and KBBX AM, less than two hours after the attack, set up drop off sites and start fundraising.

WNSW AM - New York (Multicultural Radio Broadcasting) gives out flags and establishes fund
The Chinese language station gave out 200,000 American flags and established a relief fund that so far has raised over one million dollars.

Citadel Colorado Springs raises over half a million dollars for the Red Cross in one day
Citadel's five stations raise $515,000 on September 13.

Germany's Antenne Sachsen's listeners respond to crisis in New York City
Antenne Sachsen invited listeners to paint sunflowers to send to injured people in New York City hospitals. Area children painted the sunflowers and DHL donated the services to send the artwork to New York. Thank you to Hermann Hohenberger of Nuernberg, Germany for this submission, and for helping to spread the word about www.radiocares.org in Germany through the German broadcasters' organization, www.broadcast-future.de. Mr. Hohenberger's note said "best regards and best wishes for the American people and your work. We are with you."
